This standard leather belt is made from Horween's Chromexcel leather, a combination tanned leather that's been largely unchanged since Horween first started making this leather in the early 1900s. Eighty-nine separate processes go into the Chromexcel (CXL) leather, taking about 28 days from start to finish. The edges are burnished and waxed by hand, finished with a stainless steel buckle, dual prong buckle and constructed here in Chicago.

Family owned and operated since 1905, Horween Leather Company remains one of the oldest continuously running tanneries in the United States – and the only still located right here in Chicago. Their high quality leather is highly regarded and utilized in everything from Shell Cordovan boots to Chromexcel belts.
